Olympic Trials, Finals

On the last day of Olympic Trials, three BRF crews raced for the right to represent the United States at the Olympics (Gevvie Stone and Maggie Fellows), and the Final Olympic Qualification Regatta(Mary Jones Nabel with PBC’s Emily Schmieg).

Gevvie finished 2nd, coming up 3.8 seconds short of securing her third consecutive berth in the women’s single, with Kara Kohler taking the win. Maggie finished 4th in the same race.

Mary and Emily finished third in the final, with Michelle Sechser and Molly Reckford taking the win.

All the athletes are looking forward towards the Olympic Trials in the women’s double as their next opportunity to secure a berth on the 2021 US Olympic Team. By virtue of her results, Gevvie also earned an automatic invitation to the women’s quadruple sculls selection camp.
